If you’re visiting Seoul for the first time, Namsan (남산) should be high on your list. Located in the heart of the city, this scenic mountain is famous for its panoramic views, historic landmarks, and peaceful walking trails. Namsan and its surrounding neighborhoods offer a perfect blend of nature, tradition, and modern Seoul — making it an essential part of any well-rounded itinerary.

Namsan Cable Car

A scenic ride that takes you partway up the mountain. A fun option if you're not in the mood for a hike — plus, it offers great photo opportunities.


Namsan Park Walking Trails

Well-maintained paths lead you through quiet forests, old fortress walls, and scenic viewpoints. It's a refreshing escape without leaving the city.


Namsangol Hanok Village 

A traditional village nestled at the base of Namsan, featuring restored Korean houses (hanok), cultural performances, and craft workshops. A great spot to learn about Joseon-era life.



Baekbeom Square

A peaceful area with statues, memorials, and views, honoring Kim Gu, a prominent figure in Korean independence history. It’s a quieter stop with historical value.

Myeongdong 

Just a short walk from Namsan Cable Car, this bustling shopping district is a favorite among tourists. From K-beauty to fashion to street food, Myeongdong has it all — day and night.



Namdaemun Market 

One of Korea’s oldest and largest traditional markets. You’ll find everything from souvenirs to local street snacks. Try hotteok (sweet pancakes) or kalguksu (hand-cut noodles) in the cozy alleyways.


Jung-gu Backstreets 

Wander into the hidden alleys between Namsan and the central business district. You’ll discover traditional restaurants, tiny cafés, and remnants of old Seoul mixed with modern life.
