BTS and Seoul share a deep connection. Seoul is where BTS was formed, trained, and began their journey to becoming a global sensation. The city has hosted countless BTS moments — from music video shoots and variety show filming to concert venues and magazine photoshoots. Whether it’s their powerful performance at Gyeongbokgung Palace or a quiet moment by Seokchon Lake, the city is filled with places that carry the group’s history and charm.
This
itinerary highlights iconic BTS-related locations where you can retrace their
steps and feel the group’s presence.
1. Gyeongbokgung Palace
In 2020,
BTS performed here for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, wearing
contemporary hanbok. They performed “IDOL” in front of Geunjeongjeon
Hall, where Joseon kings were crowned, and “Mikrokosmos” at the
stunning Gyeonghoeru Pavilion. The grandeur of the palace added a
historical depth to their performance.

for visiting information.
How to get there: Gyeongbokgung Station (Subway Line 3), Exit 5 — 5 min
on foot.
2. Korea House
In 2018,
BTS posed for the cover of Billboard magazine here at Namsangol Hanok
Village. This traditional hanok venue offers authentic Korean cuisine,
traditional snacks, and cultural performances. It’s a chance to enjoy the
elegance of Korea’s heritage much like the group did.

blog for more details.
How to get there: Chungmuro Station (Subway Lines 3 & 4), Exit 3 or
4 — 5 min on foot.
3. Nodeul Island
Featured in
the “Run” music video, where BTS members sprinted along Hangangdaegyo Bridge.
The group returned here in 2021 for their Season’s Greetings photoshoot.
With its river views, art spaces, and open lawns, Nodeul Island offers a
refreshing blend of energy and calm.
How to get there: Nodeul Station (Subway Line 9), Exit 2 — follow the
signs to the pedestrian bridge leading to Nodeul Island.
4. Seokchon Lake
RM once
posted a serene photo by the east lake here. The park is divided into east and
west lakes, with nearby landmarks including Lotte World, Lotte World
Tower, and Lotte World Mall — making it a perfect blend of nature
and city life.
Please refer to Tips for Itinerary 7: Seokchon Lake and Surrounding Area
on my blog for visiting information.
How to get there: Jamsil Station (Subway Lines 2 & 8), Exit 2 or 3 —
5 min on foot.
5. Korea Furniture Museum
Home to
over 2,500 pieces of traditional Korean wooden furniture, this museum was
praised by CNN as “one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in Seoul.”
It became a familiar spot for K-pop fans after BTS filmed their episode of You
Quiz on the Block here.
How to get there: Take a taxi from Hansung University Station (Subway
Line 4, Exit 6) — approx. 10 min, as the museum is located in a residential
area on a hillside.
Final Thoughts
From the
grand courtyards of Gyeongbokgung Palace to the riverside views of Nodeul
Island, and from bustling hanok streets to tranquil cafés, Seoul offers

group’s most memorable filming locations with the city’s cultural landmarks,
